In The Name of Allah
Under this topic, I have learnt that citation is any reference occurs in
two places:
-
In
the text (In text referencing) for example, As Abdulrahman Al-Duais (2013) stated that “…..”
(p.20).
-
At
the end of the paper (End of text referencing) for example: Abdulrahman Al-Duais, (2013). The best lectures are
few. Kedah: Al-Bukhary International University.
Firstly, I have been taught the rules for authors which are:
1)
Authors' names are inverted.
2)
For Muslim and Malaysian name (Chinese and
Malay) cite as they are known.
3)
If I have more than one author in a source,
I have to use ampersand (&) instead of “and” before the last author.
4)
More than six authors, I have to use et al.
for the seventh or more author names.
Secondly, learnt about rules for title that are:
1)
I have
to capitalize only the first letter of the first word in titles and subtitles. For
example: HOW TO BE A GOOD LECTURER. It should be “How to be a good lecturer”.
2)
I have
to Underline or italic the titles of books, titles of journals, titles of magazines
and titles of newspaper. For example, “How to be a good lecturer”.
Thirdly, I learnt the Rules for Documentations that are:
1)
Each
reference should be in single-spaced.
2)
Indention:
Indent the subsequent line about one-half inch (hanging indentation).
3)
I have
to arrange the reference list in alphabetical order.
4)
No
number in references list.
Finally, I was taught some of the rules that I need to follow while
referencing such as:
1)
The
format of more than six authors.
2)
The format
of more than first edition.
3)
The format
of edited books.
4)
The format
of books with Author and Editor.
5)
How to
make corporate bodies as author.
6)
The format
of article from an online periodical with no DOI assigned.
7)
The format
of article from an online periodical with DOI assigned.
